How does a flat black panel turn plain sunlight into electricity?
A solar panel is just a flat, dark sheet lying quietly in the sun. It has no moving parts, makes no sound, and never needs refilling. Yet leave it out in the daylight and it steadily pushes out electricity, sometimes enough to run a whole house. So how does plain sunlight, falling on a still black panel, turn into power?
