Mystery #1Tier 2space / sunspots
Why does the blazing Sun have dark spots on its face?
The Sun is the brightest thing in our whole sky, so bright you must never look straight at it. Yet if you could look safely, you would sometimes spot dark blotches scattered across its glowing face, some of them wider than the entire Earth. They sit there for days, dark islands on a sea of blinding light. How can something as fierce as the Sun have dark spots at all?
