Mystery #2Tier 2heat, sun, radiation

How does the Sun's warmth reach you across space with almost nothing in between?

Step outside on a clear day and the Sun warms your face at once. Yet between you and the Sun lie millions of kilometres of empty space, with barely a scrap of air to carry anything along. So how does that warmth cross all that nothing to land on your skin?

Shafts of sunlight breaking through a gap in heavy cloud and slanting down in straight beams over wooded hills and temple roofs.
