Mystery #2Tier 2stars / light

Why do stars twinkle but planets don't?

Look up on a clear night and the stars seem to shiver and flicker, flashing brighter then dimmer. Yet the planets, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, shine with a steady, calm glow that doesn't twinkle at all. They're all just bright points up in the dark. So why do the stars dance while the planets hold still?
