Why does a hot drink always go cold (and a cold drink warm up)?
Leave a mug of hot cocoa on the table and, without fail, it cools to room temperature. Leave a glass of cold juice next to it and that creeps up to room temperature too. They drift towards the same point from opposite directions, and you never once see a lukewarm drink suddenly get hotter on its own. Why does heat always travel one way?
