Mystery #2Tier 2sound / waves / vibration

Why does a plucked guitar string fill a room with sound?

Pluck a guitar string and let go. It blurs for a moment, almost too fast to see, then a rich sound floods the whole room, reaching every corner and every ear. The string is tiny and it barely moves, yet somehow it fills a huge space with music. How does one little string do that?
