Mystery #2Tier 2electricity / circuits

Why don't birds on a power line get electrocuted?

A power line carries enough electricity to run a whole street of houses, far more than enough to harm a person. Yet a little bird lands right on the bare wire, wraps its feet around it, and sits there happily, even falls asleep. It isn't wearing rubber boots. So why isn't it hurt?
