Mystery #2Tier 2mammals bats classification

A bat flies like a bird, so why do scientists call it a mammal?

A bat flaps leathery wings, swoops through the night sky and snatches insects on the wing, exactly like a bird. Yet open any science book and you will find bats filed under mammals, right next to mice and elephants. If it flies like a bird, why isn't it one?
