Why is it easier to walk up a long ramp than to climb straight up the same height?
Imagine you need to get to the top of a wall. You could scramble straight up, arms burning, or stroll up a long ramp that leans against it. Both take you to the exact same height, yet the ramp feels so much easier. If you end up in the same place, where did the hard part go?
